Anaconda is a distribution of the Python and R programming languages for scientific computing (data science, machine learning applications, large-scale data processing, predictive analytics, etc.), that aims to simplify package management and deployment.
Anaconda distribution comes with over 250 packages automatically installed, and over 7,500 additional open-source packages can be installed from PyPI as well as the conda package and virtual environment manager.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Anaconda has updated its terms of service. Read more: https://legal.anaconda.com/policies/en/?name=terms-of-service#anaconda-terms-of-service.
Miniforge, coupled with the Mamba utility, is an alternative way to access Python and Python-related software on RTS resources, including the Keck cluster, especially for scientific computing.
