Hello Panther Family! My name is Victor Arteaga, and I am honored to serve as your Chapman University Fire Marshal. With a strong background in emergency medicine and serving almost 30 years in the fire service; I bring a high level of expertise to best support our Panther community. As Chapman University continues to grow and excel, I am committed to providing the highest fire safety prevention standards to ensure the safety of our students and faculty. In addition to my Fire Marshal responsibilities, I also work closely with our renowned Health Sciences program overseeing the Chapman First Aid Team and providing both CPR and BLS training. I also collaborate with students from Dodge Film School to create a safe environment on set. Being a part of the Chapman community has been an incredible journey, and I feel privileged not only to work here but to have had the joy of watching my children, Matthew, Nathan, and Ava, attend and experience all Chapman has to offer.

Diego is proud to serve as the Fire Safety Specialist for Chapman University’s Department of Fire and Life Safety. With experience in industrial fire protection and emergency medical services, he is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment where everyone on campus can learn, work, and thrive.

In his role, he conducts fire safety inspections across campus to ensure that all facilities meet required fire prevention standards. He also supports Dodge College film students during the film permitting process, provide safety support for special events, and offer training in CPR and First Aid, fire safety, and proper fire extinguisher use. Helping members of the Chapman community feel informed and prepared is one of the most rewarding parts of his job.

Being part of this growing university has been an incredible experience for Diego. He truly values the collaboration, support, and sense of community that Chapman is known for, and he look s forward to continuing his personal and professional growth as he serve this campus.

Emily Hernandez

Office Assistant

Emily Hernandez is a junior majoring in Health Sciences with a minor in Leadership Studies, emphasizing Physician Assistant Studies. She is actively involved on campus as a First Aid Team member, a leader for the Promising Futures Program, and a member of the Pre-PA and LatinX Clubs. Emily currently works as a medical assistant and plans to attend physician assistant school after graduation. In the future, she hopes to specialize in dermatology or become a PA for the Minnesota Vikings.

Rosha Broomand

Office Assistant & Field Training Officer

Rosha Broomand is an Office Assistant and Field Training Officer for the Fire & Life Safety Department. She is a junior majoring in Health Sciences with an emphasis on Physician Assistant Studies and minoring in Leadership Studies. Actively involved on campus, she gives campus tours and serves as a student ambassador. Outside of her campus roles, Rosha works as a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for Special Events EMS and as a Physical Therapy Aide. She is deeply grateful for the Fire & Life Safety Office, which has provided her with invaluable experience, mentorship, and a strong sense of community. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school and pursue a career as a Physician Assistant.

Zoe Parore

First Aid Team Manager & Field Training Officer & Office Assistant

Zoe Parore is a proud New Zealand native. Serving as an Office Assistant for the Fire & Life Safety Department is both an honor and a privilege for Zoe. As a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), she also takes on the role of a Field Training Officer, leading and managing the First Aid Team. Her passion for health and wellness drives her in her academic journey as a Health Science major with a Nutrition minor. Outside of work, she finds joy in music, traveling, and seeking out new experiences. The Fire & Life Safety team has become a second family to her, and she is incredibly grateful for the opportunities, growth, and camaraderie she found in this role.

Abigail Stipe

Field Training Officer
Abigail is currently a Field Training Officer on the First Aid Team here at Chapman. She is studying Health Sciences, minoring in Studio Art and has aspirations of going to PA school after graduation. Her passion for medicine is what led her to the First Aid team, she is so honored to be in a leadership role. Outside of academics she is an avid painter, plant enthusiast and enjoy reading.

Alexa Diaz

Field Training Officer
Alexa Diaz is a sophomore majoring in Accounting with a minor in Chemistry on the pre-med track. She is a first-generation Mexican-American student with a passion for helping others. Being a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Alexa takes on the role of Field Training Officer, where she helps manage and lead the team. Utilizing her license, she volunteers as an instructor at an EMT class during their skills training, gaining experience in teaching and interpersonal skills. On campus, she has participated in the study abroad program in Rome, Italy, where she gained a deeper awareness of cross-cultural communication, and serves as a Center for Global Education Ambassador. After graduation, she hopes to work as an Emergency Room Technician at a hospital and EMT, with the goal of attending medical school to become a physician.

Sebastian Herrera

Field Training Officer
Sebastian Herrera is a senior Applied Human Physiology major on the pre-med track and serves as a Field Training Officer (FTO) for Chapman’s First Aid Team. He is also a member of Chapman’s Swim and Dive Team and is actively involved in several campus organizations. Sebastian is honored to serve in this role and looks forward to giving back to the Chapman community.

Suravi Kanugula

Field Training Officer
Suravi Siva Kanugula is so grateful to serve as a Field Training Officer for the Chapman First Aid Team. She is a senior majoring in Applied Human Physiology with a minor in Psychology, which lets her combine her love for learning how our bodies work with her curiosity about the brain and behavior. She is also a Research Assistant at Chapman’s LUCID Lab, where she studies introspective reports of freedom and external influences. In addition, she is a nationally registered EMT and has worked at UC Irvine Campus Hospital, allowing her to bring back experiences to the team here at Chapman. Suravi is so thankful for all the opportunities and growth this journey has given her. Outside of school, she loves practicing bharatanatyam, going to pilates, and spending time with family and friends.

Jace Hoffmann is senior at Chapman University pursuing a degree in Strategic and Corporate Communication with a minor in Health Sciences. He is passionate about making a positive impact in his community, whether he is working in Chapman’s ticketing office or serving as a student inspector. Outside of academics and work, you’ll find him soaking up the sun at the beach or enjoying everything the Orange County area has to offer. He is driven, community-focused, and always looking for new ways to grow and give back.

Ali Quijada is a junior animation and visual effects student with an emphasis in 3D animation. She is part of the Business of Entertainment minor and is passionate about animation and film. With a background in animating and producing training and safety informational videos, she contributes to the marketing and digital media aspects of Fire and Life Safety.
