Chapman is working to help reduce waste production and divert any waste to the proper place. Waste in Southern California is a hot topic because of its close proximity to waterways and the ocean. Therefore, Chapman has grown their commitments to reduce their waste by diverting waste with more options for recycling and composting.

Food Digester

Chapman installed a Power Knot food digester at Randall Dining Commons in 2022. Leftover food waste is transferred into the digester and broken down into grey water, diverting countless amounts of food waste from the landfill. Learn more about this 'steel stomach' by watching the video below!
