Stata is a statistical package for managing, analyzing, and graphing data. Stata is available for a variety of platforms. Stata may be used either as a point-and-click application or as a command-driven package.

Contact the IS&T Service Desk by emailing servicedesk@chapman.edu in order to setup on a Chapman-owned device. They will need your  name, email address, contact phone number, and computer name.

If you plan to install it on a personally-owned device, you can download the appropriate zip file below. Please refer to our Install Directions below, to understand how to unzip and setup the software, or view the install process in a video (coming soon).

StataCorp's YouTube channel has many short tutorials and demonstrations covering a wide variety of topics such as a tour of Stata's interface, how to perform basic statistical analysis, and how to create basic graphs.

Stata's NetCourses are convenient and inexpensive web-based courses for learning Stata. NetCourses allow you to learn Stata on your time wherever you are located. For even more convenience we offer NetCourseNow, which allows you to learn Stata at your own pace.

Training courses are intensive, in-depth courses taught by StataCorp experts that are offered two ways--in classrooms and web based. They are open to individuals and groups. A group discount is available for enrollments of three or more individuals. Enrollment is limited.

StataCorp offers free webinars on a variety of topics of interest to Stata users. Webinars are hosted by our statisticians and accessible with Adobe Connect. Registration is required.
