Notability is a note-taking app that allows users to type and draw. It supports direct editing and export to PDF and other file formats. Users can sync files to various cloud services and share them via a link-based system. The app also features simultaneous audio recording and the conversion of handwriting and math equations to text.

Any user logged into a Notability account with @chapman.edu will be granted 4 years of Notability access.
Notability accounts are for users aged 16 and older (GDPR).
Existing Notability Plus subscribers will not downgrade, but they are welcome to cancel the auto-renew, and when the subscription expires, they will "downgrade" to Notability for Organizations.

Chapman University faculty, students, and staff on:

IPad, iPhone, Mac
Personally Owned Device or Computer
Chapman University-owned computers

Toggle Section

Get the Notability app (https://notability.com/ or launch the built-in App Store app).
Go to Settings (gear icon)
Tap on Manage Accounts and tap "Login" next to Notability.

4. Sign up with your Chapman University email.

5. You will receive an activation email.

Existing Notability accounts:

If your Notability Account already uses @chapman.edu, your account will upgrade.
If your Notability Account uses a different email, you will need to create a new one:
- From Notability Settings, navigate to the Manage Accounts tab.
- Click the 3 vertical dots to the right side of "Log out" and tap "Delete Account." You will need to re-enter the password used to create your Notability account.
- Follow the prompts, and your account will be deleted in 7 days. If you sign in using your original (non-Chapman) email address within 7 days, the delete account action will be undone.

Note about data:

Notability data is stored on the local device or iCloud if enabled. Data is not stored in the Notability app.
