How do I take my Math Placement Exam?
You will take your exam on Canvas. To get started, log in to your Canvas account using your Chapman login.
On your Canvas dashboard, choose the course called “Math Placement Exams.” You will find more detailed instructions on how to take the exam within this module. Be sure to follow them.
Here are a few tips before you get started:
- The exam should be taken on the Firefox browser. We also recommend you do not take it on a tablet, mobile device or Chromebook.
- You can only take the exam once, so try your best on each question.
- Budget your time wisely. You have 45 minutes to answer 25 questions.
- You need a score of 20 to pass the exam.
- Make sure to try the practice questions before taking the real exam. They will give you a good idea of the questions. If you struggle with the practice
questions, refresh yourself on the topics they cover before taking the exam. These
topics include:
- Numeric and symbolic computations.
- Quadratic equations.
- Properties of logarithms and exponentials.
- Interval notation.
- Radicals.
- Linear systems.
- Completions of the square.
- Inequalities, graphs of lines and parabolas.
