Associate Director, Residence Life and First Year Experience

I was born and raised in Lomita, CA. I began my undergraduate studies at Chapman in the fall of 2008. As a first-generation college student, my transition to Chapman was not easy. I think back on my experience and I credit the work done by Student Affairs professionals that allowed me to develop holistically. I was fortunate as an undergraduate to serve as an Orientation Leader and Orientation Coordinator. I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Educational Studies and in 2015 with a Master of Arts in Leadership Development. Prior to serving as the Associate Director of Residence Life and First Year Experience, I supported the Office of Orientation and First Year Programs as the Graduate Assistant, Program Coordinator, and Assistant Director. I love Chapman University and I can't wait to share that with incoming students!

I was born and raised in Fallbrook, CA and started my undergraduate studies at Chapman University in 2017 as a first generation college student. I graduated in 2021 with Bachelor's of Arts in both Political Science and Peace Studies and in 2022 with my Master's in Leadership Development. During my time in undergrad I realized the importance of supporting students through their transition into college. Throughout my involvements around campus and more specifically with the Orientation Team I found my passion for empowering students to learn and grow throughout their time in college. My responsibilities include the implementation of Family and Student Orientation and First Year Programs, supervising student staff, and aiding students in their transition into the Chapman community. During my free time, I loves spending time with my family and friends, taking my dog on walks, reading, and exploring.

Isabel Gomez

Orientation Coordinator for Marketing
Hello all! My name is Isabel Gomez and I’m the Orientation Coordinator for Marketing! I am currently a junior majoring in Sociology and minoring in Graphic Design, which is all within our Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. I grew up in Livermore, California, so I have a huge love for the SF Bay Area, especially because my family has owned a restaurant in San Ramon for the last 30 years! Having arrived at Chapman undeclared, I’ve grown a huge appreciation for how much freedom I had to explore all the academic and extracurricular communities I wanted to here. That includes having been an Orientation Leader for the past two years, where I’ve had the joy of making many memories, connections, and welcoming the incoming classes to Chapman. As a continuation of that position, I also work as a First Year Experience Peer Advisor, where I get to stay in touch with and support the first-year students that were in my fenestra forum and are within the art department. Some of my other involvements include hosting a Chapman Radio show and being involved with Greek life with Kappa Alpha Theta! Outside of school and work, I love to get outside whether it’s camping, hiking, off-roading or just a quick visit to the beach to play Spikeball. Art is my passion via painting, drawing, or often you’ll catch me with a film camera strapped around me. Plus, I’m a big foodie which means trying new hole-in-the-walls, or cooking up fun recipes. I am so excited to work with this team to make it the best orientation we can for all the incoming students!

Hi everyone! My name is Marguerite McHenry, and I am the Orientation Coordinator for Transfers & Families. Personally, I transferred to Chapman in the Fall of 2024 and since then I have made great memories, built positive relationships, and challenged myself as a leader. I am a rising senior majoring in Writing for Film and Television with a themed inquiry in Leadership. I was born in Dallas, Texas and have lived in Atlanta, Georgia for most of my life. Since coming to Chapman, I have loved exploring Orange County and getting to experience all that SoCal has to offer. On campus, I am a member of the University Program Board, Chapman Radio, and Peer Advisor for Chapman’s First Year Experience program. In my spare time, I love watching indie films, going to concerts, and trying new restaurants. This is my second year working orientation and I am super excited to help welcome the Class of 2030! As an Orientation Coordinator, I am looking forward to assisting students and their families as they find their place to grow, learn, and thrive at Chapman University. Paws up, Panthers and I’ll see you this fall!
