Change or Add Majors and Minors

» Change or Add Majors and Minors

At Chapman, there are some majors and minors that you can switch into or add directly. Others require you to go through an application process.

When you are ready to change/add your major or minor:

  1. Go through the specific steps for the major or minor your want. You can find the steps for each program below.
  2. Complete your Change of Major/Minor Form.
  3. Email the form to the Registrar's Office (aps@chapman.edu).


If you have any questions, you can always contact a Program Advisor.

Argyros School of Business and Economics

To switch into or add any of these programs, visit the Argyros Change or Add Major page and follow the instructions there. Keep in mind that some Business majors have prerequisite classes that you will need to take before you can switch.


Attallah College of Educational Studies

To switch into or add an Integrated Educational Studies major, Leadership Studies minor or other education minor, email education@chapman.edu to schedule a meeting with the department chair to discuss your goals and make sure you are a good fit for the program. Then submit your Change of Major/Minor Form.


College of Performing Arts


To
switch into or add any of these programs, complete the following steps:

  1. Schedule a meeting with the department chair to discuss your goals and make sure you are a good fit for the program. You can schedule your meeting by emailing the department you're interested in:
  2. Submit your creative supplement and pre-screen audition. The department chair will tell you how to submit these during your meeting.
  3. Wait for confirmation from the department. They will let you know whether you have been accepted into the program.
  4. Once you have been accepted, submit your Change of Major/Minor Form.

Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences


To switch into or add any of these programs,
schedule a meeting with the department chair to discuss your goals and make sure you are a good fit for the program. You can schedule your meeting by emailing the department you're interested in:


Then submit your Change of Major/Minor Form. The
Neuroscience minor has an extra requirement of a short statement of interest.

Dodge College of Film and Media Arts


Dodge College has its own application process. To switch into or add any of the programs in Dodge College, visit the
Dodge Change or Add Majors or Minors page and follow the instructions there.


Fowler School of Engineering


To switch into or add any of these programs, email
computerscience@chapman.edu to schedule a meeting with the department chair to discuss your goals and make sure you are a good fit for the program. Then submit your Change of Major/Minor Form.


Schmid College of Science and Technology


To switch into or add any of these programs,
schedule a meeting with the program advisor to discuss your goals and make sure you are a good fit for the program. You can schedule your meeting by emailing the advisor for the program you're interested in:

School of Communication


To switch into or add any of these programs,
apply on the School of Communication’s site.


School of Pharmacy (Pre-Pharmacy Program)

If you are considering changing your major to Pre-Pharmacy, please contact the program directly at prepharmacy@chapman.edu.


Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences


To switch into or add any of these programs, submit your Change of Major/Minor Form. Art (Studio Art), Art History and Graphic Design have
additional requirements.
