Housing Application

If you are looking to live in Chapman housing, you must complete the housing application. You can do so via our Housing Portal.

  • Transfer students are exempt from the requirement to live in campus housing.
  • Transfer students are guaranteed housing for their first year if they submit the housing application and pay the Housing Reservation Payment by the deadline. After their first year, every effort is made to place transfer students who apply for Chapman housing.
  • You will not be able to indicate a housing location preference when applying for housing.
  • You will be placed within a transfer community or with current students in returning student buildings that may be in need of a roommate(s).
  • Transfer students interested in off-campus options can visit the Off-campus Housing website.

Housing Application Process

  • Incoming transfer students looking to live in campus housing in the spring should submit a non-refundable $500 Housing Reservation Payment by June 1 and Housing Application by the June 15 priority deadline.
  • The Housing Reservation Payment can be made in your Application Status Page.
  • You can submit your application via the Chapman Housing Portal. You will need to log into the housing portal with your Chapman email address and password.
    • If you are having any issues with your Chapman password, you can reset it at password.chapman.edu.
  • Housing notifications will be sent to your Chapman email in early August. The message provides your housing assignment, roommate(s), contact information and other details to help you move into your residential community.
  • If you are bringing a car to campus, you must register it for a free parking permit (which will be available over the summer).
