Transitioning from military to university life can be challenging. Chapman’s campus resources can make that transition easier, and ensure you are prepared for success in the next step of your life and career.

If you are not a student and want to visit Chapman, you can also take a campus tour to learn more about the University from a current student.

Athletics 

Chapman is a Division III school that offers several opportunities for students to compete on varsity, club and intramural teams. Approximately one in four Chapman students participate in organized athletics.

The University also has multiple athletic facilities for students to use for general fitness.

Counseling Services

Mental wellness is key to academic and personal success, and is a top priority in the services the University provides to students.

  • Frances Smith Center for Individual & Family Therapy:  The Frances Smith Center was founded in 1965 by faculty and students looking to help individuals and families affected by the Vietnam War. The Center now provides high-quality and affordable mental health care for individuals, couples, families, and children.

  • Student Psychological Counseling Services:  Student Psychological Counseling Services provides counseling and psychotherapy to students. You can visit their website to learn more about their counseling services and making an appointment.


Engagement Opportunities 

The University offers countless opportunities outside the classroom to enrich your Chapman experience.

  • Center for American War Letters: The Center for American War Letters is a unique and extensive manuscript collection of previously unpublished war letters. This includes handwritten notes from the Revolutionary War through recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

  • Clubs and Organizations:  Chapman offers more than 150 student clubs and organizations. These include academic, recreational, religious/spiritual and much more.  You can visit our Clubs & Organizations page to find clubs that interest you, or instructions to start your own.

  • Greek Life: A third of Chapman students participate in Greek Life. Every fraternity and sorority chapter offers unique opportunities for fostering friendships, connections and activities. To learn more and about the chapters, visit:



Study Abroad 

Veterans and their families can use Post-9/11 GI Bill® funding (as well as other aid) to help pay tuition for all approved study abroad and faculty-led programs. The credits earned must apply towards graduation requirements.

Tutoring, Learning and Testing Center

Our Tutoring, Learning and Testing Center offers a variety of tutoring and testing services for students, including:

  • Tutoring: Group or one-on-one sessions organized by class or subject
  • Writing Center: Writing and editing tips on your paper
  • Academic Mentoring: Partnerships between academic mentors and students looking for help navigating Chapman’s academic world
  • Testing Resources: Accommodations for students with disabilities
  • Learning Resources: Time management and study strategies
