Harry Cheney
Lead Faculty Instructor and Professor and Motion Picture Sound Editor

Harry Cheney has over 30 years’ experience sound editing in the industry. His long list of credits, including feature films (Legends of the Fall, Bottle Rocket, Guarding Tess, Poetic Justice, The Mirror Has Two Faces, Atlas Shrugged, CBGB), TV movies (Sworn to SilenceIntruder, I Want to Live, Dead by Sunset), and TV series (from Smallville and Gilmore Girls to Deadwood), have brought him numerous Emmy and Golden Reel nominations.

Tom Ptasinski
Lead Instructor and Lecturer

Tom Ptasinski is a festival award- winning film director, screenwriter, producer, and educator. Tom graduated from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production with an emphasis in Directing. After school, he moved to Los Angeles and worked in a development, production, or post-production capacity for various feature films, TV shows, commercials, and production companies including "David Foster Productions," "Whitelist Content LLC," "The Dr. Phil Show," and "The Doctors." When not pursuing his film career, Tom has taught over five hundred students filmmaking, film theory, and directing at Duke University's Talent Identification Program (TiP), Dodge College Summer Film Academy, and as an adjunct lecturer at Chapman University.

Summer Programs Manager and Director of Admissions

Lauren Kacura graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Advertising in 2009. She has worked at Dodge College since graduation, and currently oversees both graduate and undergraduate admissions, as well as manages the Summer Film Academy. Lauren co-founded the Summer Film Academy with professor Harry Cheney in 2011 as a way for high school students to have a unique experience in learning how all aspects of film and media work, and to discover what a college film program is like.

Priscilla Campos
Summer Programs Coordinator and Admissions Coordinator

Priscilla Campos graduated from the University of La Verne with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is currently enrolled in the MA Leadership Development Program at Chapman University. She oversees both graduate and undergraduate admissions and assists in managing the operations for the Summer Film Academy.
