Financial Aid Notification Timelines

» Financial Aid Notification Timelines

After being admitted to Chapman, eligible and selected students will receive a financial aid offer that includes direct and indirect costs of attending Chapman as well as financial aid awarded. Financial aid awarded can include:

  • Scholarships and grants.
  • Loans.
  • Federal work-study.

Note that you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for all need-based aid, low-interest loans, and federal work-study.

When you’ll receive your financial aid offer

  • First year admits who apply via Early Action and Early Decision will receive academic merit scholarships at the time of admittance.
    • Early Decision admits will receive any applicable need-based aid around a week after decisions are released.
    • Early Action admits will receive any applicable need-based aid a few weeks after decisions are released.
  • All other first-year and transfer admits will receive their financial aid offer within a few weeks of admittance.

Additional award notification timelines

  • Chapman releases Talent/Department and Mission-Driven Awards throughout the spring (for those admitted to the fall term) and throughout the fall (for those admitted to the spring term). 
  • You will receive an email notification if you receive a Talent/Department or Mission-Driven Award.
  • You will have to log into your Application Status Page to view the award amount and revision to your financial aid offer.

Talent/Department Awards notifications

Several departments at Chapman provide financial awards to individuals based on materials in their Chapman application. You can find a list of departments that offer awards here.

  • Notifications will go out throughout the fall for all applicants admitted to the spring term.

Mission-Driven Awards notification timelines

Mission-driven awards create a diverse campus community and provide educational opportunities to underrepresented students. You can find a list of Mission-Driven Awards here (as well as eligibility criteria).

  • Notifications will go out throughout the fall for all applicants admitted to the spring term.
