Financing your education
We understand the importance of making education accessible. This is why we offer financial resources that make attending college more affordable, including merit scholarships, need-based aid, and talent/departmental awards.
We also offer mission-driven awards that provide educational opportunities to students underrepresented in higher education, such as:
- The Paul Mayfield Black Student Union Scholarship (BSU): Awarded to full-time college students who have completed at least two semesters, are members of the Black Student Union (BSU), have a GPA of at least 2.500 and demonstrate leadership in affairs of BSU.
- Recipient must be recommended by a Chapman advisor to BSU.
- If no student is eligible in a given year, funds will be awarded to a Thurgood Marshall eligible student.
For a comprehensive list of Chapman's mission-driven awards and their eligibility criteria, visit the Expenses and Financial Aid section in our academic catalog.

Unless otherwise noted, these scholarships are open to all African American/Black students pursuing higher education. In most cases, these scholarships can be combined with awards you receive from Chapman or other institutions.
