Virtual Athletics Information Sessions

This fall, we're offering information sessions for prospective student athletes and their families. You’ll get details on the student-athlete experience at Chapman and meet coaches and current students.

Student athletes at Chapman get to focus on both school and their sport, working with professors and coaches who will help you achieve your academic and athletic goals. That support will help you get a great education while also pushing yourself on the field, court, pool, track or wherever your athletic passions take place.

You can learn about Chapman’s athletic programs, facilities and coaches on our Athletics website.

Division III Athletics

Chapman University is a Division III school. The NCAA does not allow Division III schools to offer any type of scholarships or financial aid based on athletic ability. However, Chapman is still able to provide you with the opportunity to compete at a high level and pursue great academic opportunities, including research and internships. We are proud of athletes’ success both on and off the field:

Athletic Achievements

  • 3 NCAA Division III titles since 1994 (baseball in 2003 & 2019, and softball in 1995)
  • 19 Regional Titles
  • 10 Conference Titles since 2012

Academic Achievements (2020-21 Season)

  • 259 SCIAC All-Academic selections (above a 3.4 GPA)
  • 3.418 average GPA among 500+ student athletes
  • Every team has above a 3.0 GPA average (and 19 of 21 teams averaged over 3.2)

Varsity Teams

Chapman is part of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), which means that you’ll compete with talented and dedicated athletes from schools across Southern California. Chapman has 21 competitive men’s and women's varsity-level teams.
