»Wilkinson College Undergraduate Research Fellows Program
Wilkinson College provides faculty with the opportunity to hire and mentor a limited number of undergraduate research fellows to support faculty research and creative activity projects.
Program Overview
- Faculty may hire one undergraduate research fellow per fiscal year
- Fellows may work up to 10 hours per week for a maximum of 15 consecutive weeks within the fiscal year (June 1–May 31)
- Hourly rate: $18/hour for FY 2026–27 (rates are reviewed and set annually)
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the academic year
- Hiring and student timesheets are managed by the Dean’s Office (please allow approximately three weeks for hiring)
- Research fellows may not be used to fulfill course requirements or Capstone projects
Program Objectives
- Provide students with meaningful, hands-on research and creative activity experiences
- Increase student participation and confidence in conducting and presenting research
- Support faculty-driven research and creative activity across disciplines through student collaboration
Faculty Eligibility
- Open to full-time tenured and tenure-track Wilkinson College faculty
- Due to limited funding, priority will be given to junior tenure-track faculty
Student Eligibility
- Must be an undergraduate student majoring or minoring in Wilkinson College
- Must be in good academic standing
- No prior research experience is required
Reporting Requirement
At the conclusion of the fellowship period, faculty will be required to complete the report form. The report must be submitted within 30 days and should clearly outline how the research fellow contributed to the faculty member’s research and/or creative activity.
