The Office of Corporate & Foundation Relations (CFR) facilitates and advances mutually rewarding relationships between Chapman University and its corporate and foundation partners. The CFR office collaborates with University Advancement, the President’s office, deans and faculty to identify strategic funding priorities that support the mission of each college and university as an institution. We strive to build relationships that support the university’s priorities and mission and enable corporate partners to fulfill their community involvement objectives. + - Legacy Planning

Legacy Planning allows you to make charitable gifts to Chapman University now or after your lifetime while enjoying financial benefits for yourself.

Legacy gifts are sometimes referred to as "stop-and-think" gifts because they require some planning and, often, help from your professional advisors. Unlike cash donations, they are typically made from assets in your estate rather than disposable income, and come to fruition upon after your lifetime. A misconception is that legacy giving is only for the "wealthy." The truth is, even people of modest means can make a difference through planned giving.

The most common legacy gift is a bequest in your will or living trust. Other legacy gifts include:

  • Charitable gift annuity
  • Charitable remainder trust
  • Charitable lead trust
  • Endowment fund
  • Retirement plan assets
  • Life insurance policies
  • Remainder interest in your home

Please let us know if you have included Chapman University for a legacy gift so that we can induct you as a member of the Charles C. Chapman Heritage Society. Your commitment will inspire others to make similar gifts.

Visit the Legacy Planning website to learn more about how you can create your legacy at Chapman or contact David B. Moore, assistant vice president of legacy giving, at (714) 516-4590.
