» COVID-19 Reopening Guide

Chapman Fitness & Recreation Services is reopening our on-campus facilities in alignment with CDC, local health department, and University guidelines. Our strategy is to focus on ensuring the comfort level of our students and help you adapt to the new safety guidelines. Below is a guide outlining Fall 2021 Fitness Center operations:

What CU Fitness & Recreation is Doing

  • Students will be required to show a CLEAR Daily COVID Screening email prior to entering the facility.
  • Facilities will operate at full capacity. This may adjust over time. Fitness & Recreation staff will enforce capacity at the front desk of each facility.
  • Physical Distancing is not required or enforced. We encourage guests to respect physical distancing when requested.
  • MERV 13 Air Filters are installed, and air scrubbers will be utilized.
  • Added Cleaning & Sanitization Protocols: Hand sanitizing stations and cleaning wipes will be available to guests. Aramark Custodial will complete regular cleaning of high-touch surfaces and coordinate a deep cleaning of the facility daily.

What We Are Asking of Our Students

  • Please stay home if you are sick.
  • Sanitize your hands upon entry into the facility.
  • Please wipe down your equipment with the provided wipes before and after equipment use. Focus on high-touch surfaces like handles, knobs, and grips.
  • Face coverings must be worn while indoors unless actively drinking water.
  • Respect other members with 6ft physical distancing when requested
