While there are numerous changes happening to the technology infrastructure to help us continue to improve the student online experience in years to come, these current updates will mostly leave the user experience unaffected.

There are three core areas of change to be aware of:

1. Name change - You will notice a change to the url from my.chapman.edu to studentcenter.chapman.edu in documentation and referenced throughout campus.
2. 2-factor authentication (2FA) - For security when logging in, you will be prompted to authenticate your login. This requires an initial set up of 2FA, which many of you are already enrolled in. To learn more, visit the 2FA instructions page.
3. Different Landing Page - When logging in, you will be sent to a new landing page that looks more like tiles (screenshot below). This new space is similar to the my.chapman.edu space in what it offers, but is built to be more mobile friendly and clear.

The changes are part of a bigger initiative to modernize the technology behind these campus services.

• Keeping up with the technology - As technology gets more advanced, our systems must keep current, too.  My.chapman is hosted on an older technology that Chapman needs to migrate away from to stay current.
• Enhanced Security - In this new system, we are able to connect to the 2FA system of logging in, which is a much more modern and safe way of account management.  It allows you to log in once to connect to multiple Chapman systems.  If you are not set up for 2FA, visit the 2FA instructions page..
• Improving Accessibility, Adaptability, and Responsiveness – Through the use of tiles, you will have a better experience of this digital space since it utilizes fast, modern frameworks and technology.  The site will be easier to read and navigate on all devices, including tablets, phones, and other mobile devices. 

After the switch, you can get to the new site by going to studentcenter.chapman.edu in any browser or by using the 'paw' dropdown from any page on www.chapman.edu page and selecting "Student Center."
