Julie Artman has worked as a theatre teacher, director, producer, acting coach, and actor in NYC, LA, and regionally. She has developed new plays at the Producer's Club Theatre in NYC and with several LA theatres, including the MET Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum. Julie earned her M.F.A. in Theatre at the University of Montana. Her feature film development and production work includes contributions to Columbia Pictures' Little Women, Touchstone's Ed Wood, and Disney's James and the Giant Peach. Julie's short film (awarded a Kodak filmmaker grant) premiered with the 2001 New York International Independent Film & Video Festival, winning a best director award. As director and producer, Julie’s documentary on the contemporary art scene in Southern California premiered at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art. Julie is Chair of the Collection Management Division for the Leatherby Libraries and teaches in the Freshman Foundations program.
