Dr. Paduano received her Master in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Padua (Italy) and her Ph.D in Italian from UCLA. She teaches courses in Italian language, culture and literature and serves as advisor to the Italian Club at Chapman. She has extensive experience in the teaching of Italian language and culture, having taught at institutions of higher education including UCLA, California State University Long Beach, Scripps College, Pepperdine University, and Marist College. In her teaching of Italian, she practices an individualized and full immersion approach, which integrates the development of both language acquisition and learning, and encourages and facilitates culturally creative and entertaining ways to learn beyond the classroom. At Chapman she also teaches Italian Theater and History of Italian food courses and she facilitates students' engagement through careful selection of reading and media materials, through incremental developmental processes in oral and written reflection, and through theoretical debate.
