Law Library Access --Access to the Hugh and Hazel Darling Law Library is limited to current Chapman
University students, faculty, staff, Fowler School of Law alumni and currently enrolled
law students from other ABA-accredited law schools, and only during open hours of
the Law Library as designated by Law Library staff, the Law School Dean, or their
designate. Please note that although students from other ABA-accredited law schools
may use the law library space for studying, they are not provided borrowing privileges.
Access to the Hugh & Hazel Darling Law Library is not currently permitted for other
users. All others are encouraged to visit the Orange County Public Law Library to access research materials. The address and contact info for the Orange Public
Law Library is 515 N. Flower St., Santa Ana, (714) 338-6790.
Access to the Law Library for Fowler School of Law alumni and currently enrolled law
students from other ABA-accredited law schools does not grant access to any other
space within the Chapman University Fowler School of Law facilities without the express
permission of the Dean of the Law School or their designate. Access to the Law Library
for any Chapman University Fowler School of Law alumni and currently enrolled law
students from other ABA-accredited law schools may be revoked at the discretion of
the Dean or their designate as a result of any unpermitted access to, or remaining
in, the library or any other part of Kennedy Hall without permission of the Dean or
their designate. If any Fowler School of Law students, alumni, currently enrolled
law students from other ABA-accredited law schools, or any other persons remain in
the Law Library beyond its posted and designated operating hours, they shall be considered
to be trespassing and they may be subject to criminal prosecution.
If any person not a current student, faculty, or staff of the Chapman University Fowler
School of Law, without express permission of the Dean or their designate, enters into
any part of the Chapman University Fowler School of Law facility, including any classroom,
lounge, restroom, basement, closet, storage room, or any other room, hall, stairwell
or any other part of Kennedy Hall, they shall be considered as trespassing and they
may be subject to criminal prosecution.
Library Study Room Access -- The Hugh and Hazel Darling Law Library has eleven study rooms for use by Fowler
School of Law students. Rooms can be reserved by Fowler School of Law students for
up to 3 hours at a time. Please note that rooms not picked up by their reserved time
may be canceled after 15 minutes and given to another student unless they have notified
Circulation staff that they will be running late. Please send an email to lawcirc@chapman.edu or call the Circulation Desk at (714) 628-2552 to notify them that you will be running late or if you need any other
assistance booking rooms.
Alumni Borrowing Material -- Fowler School of Law and Chapman University Alumni may borrow circulating material
from the collection. Most circulating material for alumni checkout for only two weeks
at a time. Please contact the Research Desk at lawresearch@chapman.edu or the Circulation Desk at either lawcirc@chapman.edu or (714-628-2552) for assistance.
Law School Reading Period/Finals -- During the Fowler School of Law's Reading Periods and Finals access to the Hugh
and Hazel Darling Law Library is restricted to only currently enrolled Fowler School
of Law students and faculty.
