» Class of 1968 50-Year Reunion

Dear Class of 1968,

Hello “First Year of the Baby Boomers.” When most of us graduated from high school in 1964, our class was at least double the size of the year before. When we enrolled at Chapman, we pushed enrollment over 1,000 for the first time ever. Such has been our lives; from crowded schools to the competitive workplace, the lines, competition, economic and political waves, and the hopes and dreams to succeed in a world that was surprised to see us coming at every stage. Fifty years ago, our launch from college was in the middle of a hotly debated war, with the Summer of Love just ahead, and the Age of Innocence falling behind.

During Homecoming Weekend, October 12 and 13, 2018 our class will gather again as we are inducted into Chapman’s 50 Year Club. The induction ceremony will take place during the 50 Year Club Luncheon on Saturday, October 13. There will be many opportunities for our class to get together to share where we’ve been and what we’ve learned. More details on the weekend will come mid-summer.

In preparation for our reunion events, we invite you to fill out the Class Notes Form online as we gather memories and memorabilia from our college days. You can fill out the form by visiting www.bit.ly/chapman1968.

If you have not visited the campus lately, you’re in for some wonderful surprises. You’ll see why our beloved Chapman College is now a proud University while the “Chapman Spirit” can be felt each time a passer-by says hello. They may not wear beanies and scrub the “C” with their toothbrushes at Orientation, but Chapman University is definitely on the map as a prestigious institution with a diverse and vibrant student body, faculty and staff. This is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends at the place we once called home. We hope to see you at Homecoming to celebrate our 50-Year Reunion.

We sincerely hope you'll join us,

Class of 1968 Reunion Committee

Alan Hilberg, Kathy Hilberg, Linda Mueller, Mary Parker and Ben Sherman

  • A meaningful gift can express your gratitude for the experience you received at Chapman. Help to create opportunities for deserving students by making a $50 gift in honor of your 50 Year Reunion, $19.68 in honor of your class year, or upgrade to $16.67 a month for five years to have your legacy engraved on the Alumni Legacy Wall inside of Doti Hall.

We encourage you to make your gift in honor of a professor or past classmate that made an impact on you while here at Chapman. Remember every gift counts!

Make your gift to the Alumni Scholarship Fund through the 50 Year Reunion Class Gift by clicking here.

Reunion giving efforts boost overall alumni giving participation and accounts for 25% of Chapman Fund dollars raised each year. As you may know, alumni giving (also known as alumni participation) has a direct impact on Chapman University's ranking in U.S. News & World Report. The more alumni who give, the greater the value of your degree. This ranking criteria is determined by the percentage of alumni who donate, not by the total dollar amount raised, so every gift counts.
