Have you ever wanted to try a fitness class like yoga, kickboxing, or Zumba, but never had the chance? The Student Union offers free fitness sessions throughout the week. Grab your friends and come get fit with the Union!

Please note: If you are under 18, you must have a parent sign the waiver before attending the session. This waiver is separate from the waiver in the Fitness Center.

General Guidelines

  • Chapman students only.
  • Signed Chapman fitness waiver required.
  • Chapman ID required.
  • Check-in closes 10 minutes after the beginning of each session.
  • We suggest all guests bring a water bottle and towel.
  • Sessions are capped at 45 students.

Attire Guidelines

  • Athletic attire required. No jeans.
  • Athletic shoes must be worn and can only be taken off with Fitness Session Leader approval.
  • We recommend guests avoid wearing baggy clothing.

Rachel Clair, Zumba

Rachel Clair is a junior Creative Producing major who has been teaching Zumba at Chapman for almost two years.

Zumba is a dance-fitness session that combines aerobic and dance movements of styles like Latin basics, hip-hop and Bollywood to create a great workout that's also a ton of fun!

 Ashley Lynch, Kickboxing and HIIT


Ashley is a sophomore studying Strategic and Corporate Communications. She loves staying active, whether it’s participating in triathlons, instructing cardio kickboxing classes at 9Rounds or lifting at CrossFit.

Kickboxing emphasizes the proper punching and kicking techniques and always ends with a total ab routine. Gloves are provided, so grab your water bottle and come join a physically challenging yet motivating and fun workout session!

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training, which means executing various exercise movements at different time intervals to increase endurance and physical strength. The movements vary weekly and modifications are provided to include students of every fitness level.

 KayKay Kindy, Yoga

Kaykay is a sophomore Psychology major with a minor Dance. She loves movement of all kind, whether that is doing yoga or dancing with Chapman's Hip Hop team, Floor 13. She really enjoys sharing her love of yoga with the Chapman Community!

"Yoga is a physical practice that connects various postures with the breath to create a movement meditation. Yoga is great for building strength throughout the body, improving flexibility, finding balance, and relaxing the mind. Most importantly, Yoga is for everyone! All levels are encouraged."
