Graduate Students, Postdoctoral Fellows, and Visiting Scholars

Homestay is an option for Rinker Campus graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scholars looking for affordable housing in the area around the Irvine campus.

With a homestay arrangement, you will live with a local family and experience an American family lifestyle. International students will have an opportunity to practice their English skills on a daily basis. Students and scholars should evaluate the various options when choosing a homestay experience. Choices include having your own room or sharing a room if applying with a friend; and choosing to eat some or all of your meals with your host family, or taking care of all of your own meals. Prices vary according to the services provided.

Benefits of a Homestay for Rinker Campus Students and Scholars:

  • Private room (shared restroom) in a home within the local area
  • Guaranteed placement within a 60 minute public bus ride to the Rinker Campus
  • Fully furnished room including all utilities, internet access, and bed and bath linens
