» Energy Management

Chapman University’s Facilities Management Department is responsible for creating an energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable campus through the development and implementation of energy conservation practices and programs. While Facilities Management has been given the responsibility to “lead the charge” in energy reduction strategies, ultimate success will be dependent on how we, as individuals, use energy. Working together as a campus community, we can reduce our environmental footprint.

Energy Saving Tips & Strategies:

  • Use a power strip
  • Use natural light whenever possible during the day
  • Wash your clothes in cold water
  • Turn off the lights when you leave the room
  • Only wash full loads of dishes and clothes
  • Reduce your showers to 10 minutes or under
  • Air dry your clothes
