The Attallah College of Educational Studies' Mental Wellth Project offers Mental Health in Schools Toolkits and downloadable resources for educators, parents, and school-age kids.

To promote mental wellness and share mental health resources, Dr. Amy Jane Griffiths and Chapman University students in its M.A. in School Counseling and Ed.S. in School Psychology graduate programs created the materials here to increase mental health literacy and reduce the stigma of mental health concerns. All the toolkits, handouts, videos, and worksheets were created by Chapman graduate students for K-12 students, their families, and educators in the field and are available free of charge.

This site includes Mental Health in Schools Toolkits, mental health disorder one-page resources and videos, and distance learning handouts organized by both audience (parents, educators, and children) and grade level.

  • Toolkits contain worksheets, tips, and links to online resources, tailored to specific audiences.
  • Mental health disorder one-page handouts give a general overview of each disorder and provide links to resources. Each handouts is also accompanied by a short recorded video presentation.
  • Distance learning handouts break out tips and tools specific to remote learning and the pandemic such as stress, isolation, and coping with change.

Rachel Wiengand, EdS student
"The Mental Wellth Project embodies the importance of bridging the research-practice gap and provides students, families, and educators with consumable, evidence-based resources on mental health and mental wellness. Creating Mental Health in Schools Toolkits required us to communicate what we know to the communities that we serve in a way that is useful, practical, and inviting."
