General safety involves programs that prevent individuals, communities, and environments from harm, injury, or damage. The goal is to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement measures to minimize or eliminate those risks.The primary focus of our general safety programs is to prevent injuries while also meeting federal and state regulations, such as Cal/OSHA.

An important priority of Chapman University is to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. To achieve this goal, all university employees must join in a cooperative effort to identify and eliminate unsafe working conditions or practices, to control health hazards, and to comply fully with the safety and health standards for every job. To help accomplish this objective, the University has adopted this Injury and Illness Prevention (IIP) Program.

2. Injury and Illness Prevention Plan Training » All employees must complete IIPP training, hosted on the LearnUpon system. To be registered, please email Environmental Health and Safety with your full name so that you can be enrolled in the course.
