Alumni Post-Graduation Email Transition
After graduation, alumni will retain access to their email accounts for a period of
three years. This grace period allows you to transition smoothly by providing time to manage communications
and download any personal data you may have stored in your Chapman University accounts.
The class of 2025 alumni will retain access to their Chapman University email until 2028. The graduating class of 2024 will keep their access until 2027; the graduating class of 2023 will keep their access until 2026. Anyone who graduated from Chapman University prior to 2023 will no longer have access
after October 31, 2025.
Download Your Personal Data
Use this time to review and save any personal files, emails, or important records stored in your account. This ensures you maintain access to
crucial documents after your account is deactivated.
All Chapman files and data belong to the university. If you want to transfer personal data, you may use the steps below.
- Adobe: Your Adobe license will expire thirty days after graduation. To move your data, visit graduation.adobe.com. Although this tool is called Student File Transfer, it's available for faculty, staff, and students. Please note that Adobe Portfolio is not currently supported by this tool, and according to Adobe Engineering, this continues to be a work in progress. In the meantime, we recommend that students use Adobe's Portfolio transfer service. Review Adobe's Student File Transfer (formerly Student Asset Migration) article for reference.
- Canva: Copy designs or files before graduating.
- Google Workspace: Use Google Takeout to download your data or transfer a personal Google account.
- Microsoft OneDrive: Use theTransfer Wizard to transfer your data to a personal Microsoft account. If you do not have a personal Microsoft account, you may download the data to your computer.
Please note that any data not backed up or transferred will be lost once your account closes. Additionally, alumni will retain their M365 license for one year, during which they can access only Microsoft Office Online (the web version). Upon deactivation of your account, you will lose access to all Chapman software and services.
