There are several labs throughout campus and in the residence halls. The labs located in the Leatherby Libraries basement are generally available to students when classes are not scheduled or the lab is not reserved.

Lab Hours

Fall and Spring semester lab hours vary from Interterm and Summer hours. Lab hours in the Leatherby Libraries are subject to change due to holidays and schedule variations.

Lab Guidelines

As a courtesy to others, please follow the guidelines to ensure a welcoming and quality environment for all.

  • No food or drink (water bottles and beverages are allowed only if they have a cap or lid and are not placed on tables)
  • No loud conversations or disruptive activities
  • No phone calls
  • No filming

Violating these guidelines will result in being asked to leave the Lab. Refusal to comply with university staff instructions will result in a revocation of computer lab access privileges.

Lab Reservation Policies

The labs in the Leatherby Libraries basement may be reserved by Chapman Faculty or Staff for academic instruction purposes.

  • Reservations can only be made two weeks after the start of the semester
  • Reservations are NOT permitted during finals week
  • Reservations can only be made during Leatherby Libraries hours of operation
  • Reservations will only be held for 10 minutes past the start of the reservation time
  • If a reservation is no longer needed, the reservation must be canceled as soon as possible
  • It is the instructor's responsibility to be aware of the available equipment/software in the lab and its capabilities
