Unexpected Events

» Next Steps for Those Affected by Unexpected Events

We know that many communities are struggling with unexpected events that can affect their application to Chapman. This fall, those events include wildfires in California, a teacher's strike in Chicago and unrest in multiple countries.

Our thoughts and prayers are with every family and community who has been impacted. For individuals whose applications are affected, please be aware that:

  • If you need an extension for any of our November 1 first-year application deadlines (Early Action, Early Decision and Film Production), please email your counselor. If you don't know your counselor, you can find him/her on our Meet Your Counselor page.
  • We will not need your official transcripts, letter of recommendation or school report form by the November 1 deadline. However, these should be submitted by mid-November to ensure your application is reviewed for Early Action or Early Decision. If you anticipate difficulty requesting any of those items, you should contact your counselor.
  • If you will have difficulty paying your $70 application fee, you can request a waiver through the Common App.
