The Faculty Travel Grant Program supports full-time faculty in advancing their research, scholarship, and creative activities by funding travel to domestic and international conferences for presenting their work.
Important Notes:
- These funds are not intended to support professional workshops, training sessions, or other non-conference activities.
-
Approved funds are non-transferable. If your conference is canceled or postponed, you cannot automatically apply the funds to another purpose or conference. Please notify Makayla Scott at makascott@chapman.edu if your conference status changes.
-
The funds are contingent upon your paper or work being accepted to the conference. Please notify Makayla Scott at makascott@chapman.edu if your paper is not accepted.
- Funds are approved as a lump sum for the specified conference, with the expectation that they will be used in compliance with the University's Fiscal Policy. Please consult the policy before making travel arrangements.
Award Limits:
- Maximum of $2,500 for international travel.
- Maximum of $1,500 for domestic travel.
Funding Prioritization and Restrictions:
- Priority will be given to tenure-track junior faculty.
- Beginning in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, a maximum of two awards per faculty member per fiscal year will apply.
- Faculty may submit up to three applications per fiscal year, but only two will be approved initially. Additional applications will be placed on a waiting list and considered if funding becomes available.
If you have questions about travel policies or eligibility, please reach out to Makayla Scott.
