The Dance Minor program is for non-dance majors interested in adding a dance component to their education.

To be accepted as a dance minor, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Schedule a meeting with the department chair to discuss your goals and make sure you are a good fit for the program. Contact dance@chapman.edu
  2. Audition in the spring of your freshman or sophomore year. The audition or evaluation will determine your placement for dance technique levels. The department chair explain how to register for an audition during your meeting.
  3. Wait for confirmation from the department. They will let you know whether you have been accepted into the program.
  4. Once you have been accepted you must complete one semester of study in the department and a minimum of one technique class, after which you can apply for official minor status.
