2026 Camp Dates

Sunday, June 21 - Saturday, June 27, 2026

 
Join us for the Chapman University Overnight Instrumental Music Camp for woodwinds, brass, strings and percussion. Open to all students entering grades 9-12. Our dedicated camp faculty and instructors are committed to creating an exciting, positive, fun and rewarding musical experience for every participant. Join us for a week of music, learning and fun!

Camp Highlights

  • Wind Symphony
  • Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, and String Chamber Music
  • Elective classes, including Film Music Composition, Music Technology, Song Writing, Conducting and Jazz Improvisation
  • Solo (optional) and chamber ensemble performances daily in a studio class setting
  • Special guest lectures and classes
  • Masterclasses on your instrument with Chapman University faculty
  • Fun evening activities hosted by night counselors

Camp Information

Camp includes:

  • Dorm Room (double occupancy)
  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • Camp music and t-shirt
  • Final performance in Musco Center for the Arts on July 11th, 2025 (7:30 p.m.)

Accommodations

Campers stay in an on-campus Chapman University dormitory (girls-only/boys-only), and pre-screened adult chaperones are provided. Rooms are based on double occupancy with a private bathroom.

  • Check-In: 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2026 (Father's Day)
  • Check-Out: 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2026

Below is a sample daily schedule (9 a.m.–9 p.m.). A finalized scheduled will be e-mailed to all participants:

Suggested Packing List

Here is a suggested list of items for your camper to pack:

Clothing

  • Casual, summer clothing for six (6) days
  • Jacket/sweatshirt 
  • Pajamas
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Concert clothing
    • Instrumental Campers: concert black attire—pants, shirt/blouse or dress, black shoes
    • Vocal Campers: camp t-shirt (provided), pair of nice jeans, black closed-toe shoes
Bedding
  • Sheets and blankets (or sleeping bag)*
  • Pillow
* Optional mattress topper or extra blanket as mattresses are very firm.

Bathroom Supplies

  • Towel and wash cloth
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Soap
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste/floss
  • Deodorant
  • Hairbrush
  • Shower shoes/flip flops (if desired)
Other/Optional
  • Phone and charger
  • Sheet music for solo piece
  • Money is not required or needed, but there may be a few opportunities to purchase beverages, ice cream, snacks or Chapman gear, if desired.

Refunds and Cancellations

In the event you must cancel your registration for any reason:

  • Notice of cancellation must be submitted in writing.
  • Request for cancellation due to illness, accident, or death in the family requires documentation. Upon receipt of documentation, a full refund will be issued, less any applicable cancellation fee. Verification must be received no later than three (3) days after the scheduled start date.
  • Please allow 46 weeks to receive your refund.

Camp Cancellations:

  • Cancellations for any reason prior to 6/1/26 will receive a full refund minus a $100 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations for any reason between 6/2/26 and 6/20/26 will receive a full refund minus a $250 cancellation fee.
  • No refunds for cancellations on or after 6/21/2026.
