Complete the following steps to apply to Department of Theatre programs at Chapman University:

Step 1: Submit Your Common Application

Follow the Chapman application process to submit your Common Application.

You won't be able to move on to the next step until you have submitted your Common Application. Try to submit your Common Application as soon as possible so that you have time for step 2.

Within 48 hours of submitting your Common Application, you will gain access to your Application Status Page, which is where you will complete step 2.

For transfer students:Apply to the BA in Theatre degree and not the BFA programs (Theatre Performance, Screen Acting). The BA in Theatre requires 47 credits. The BFA programs require 78 credits which will extend your time to degree completion.

Step 2: Submit Your Creative Supplement

Your Creative Supplement is where you will showcase your creative skills and talents.

Upload your Creative Supplement materials to your Application Status Page, which you will gain access to once you have submitted your Common Application (step 1). If you have questions, you can email us at copaadmit@chapman.edu or check our Creative Supplement FAQs page.

The requirements for the Creative Supplement are different for each major:

Step 3: Wait

You’re all done! We’ll review your application and get back to you soon:

  • The BA in Theatre does not require a live audition component for admission.
  • Select Screen Acting and Threatre Performance applicants will be invited to a live, on campus audition callback to meet program directors and answer additional questions. Invites to live auditions go out on a rolling basis throughout the application cycle. (We are unable to provide timelines for when live invitations go out.)
