Biography
Dr. Naomi Kline joined Chapman in 2025 as Assistant Instructional Faculty in Crean College. She teaches Child Development and Senior Seminar in the Department of Psychology.
Naomi’s education history includes three degrees in Psychology from UCLA (B.A., M.A., & Ph.D.) During her undergraduate years, she researched the impact of bilingualism on elementary schoolers’ cognitive development. After graduating, she spent three gap years doing a combination of volunteering, nannying, and working in Japan. When she returned to UCLA in 2020 for her graduate studies in developmental psychology, Naomi pivoted her research to ethnic and racial identity development among Multiracial youth in peer contexts (e.g., friendships, classrooms, and schools). It was during this time that she also realized her love for teaching.
In her free time, Naomi enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and faith community; traveling; listening to indie music; watching and reading mysteries; solving puzzles; and playing co-op video games. She is also passionate about helping children and families impacted by the foster system.
