Biography

MARYA MAZOR recently directed the World Premiere of The World is Not Silent for The Alley Theatre and New York Stage & Film Company (Best Production/Play, Houston Press Awards); Gloria for the Chance Theater; and Eight Nights (Best Production, Best Direction, Wilde Awards) for Detroit Public Theatre. Her many Los Angeles productions have received LA Times Critic's Pick designations, Ovation Awards, and Stage Raw Award Nominations. Other productions include Donald Margulies' The Model Apartment for The Geffen Playhouse and Ivy & Bean at South Coast Repertory. She directed a Broadway scale Aladdin for the Disney Cruise Lines and served as a Disney Show Director. Mazor was a founding Artistic Director of Voice & Vision, a theatre developing the voices of women and girls in New York City; she ran that company for ten years. She is the recipient of the National Endowment of the Arts TCG Fellowship and holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
