Whether you are searching for your first job or seeking to make a transition later in your career, we are here to advise you and provide information as you develop as a professional. This includes job search techniques, practice area exploration, resume/cover letter review, and mock interviews.

Mock Interview Program

Mock interviews are available throughout the year with the Career Services Office. Additionally, the Career Services Office coordinates a formal mock interview program with practicing attorneys who give students valuable feedback and advice. All students are strongly encouraged to participate.

Chapman Fowler Law Recruiting Program

The Chapman Fowler Law Recruiting Program ("Recruiting Program") offers employers and law school students the convenience of on-campus recruiting through on-campus interviews and resume collection. Fall on-campus interviews are held in August and spring on-campus interviews are held in February.

Diversity Resources

Chapman University Fowler School of Law is committed to having a diverse student population and supporting our students. Many large law firms offer diversity scholarships and fellowships, as well as summer employment offers, for first- and second-year students. There are also many job fairs and recruiting opportunities for diverse students. For additional information on these opportunities, please view the Diversity Scholarships & Fellowships Guide and the National Job Fairs Guide on Symplicity under "Career Guides."

Professional Development Funding

Do you plan on attending a professional development event (e.g., conference, career fair, seminar)? The Career Services Office may be able to assist with funding some of the cost. Submit the professional development co-sponsorship request form to lawcareerservices@chapman.edu.

Student Organization Assistance

The Career Services Office welcomes partnering with law student organizations to host career-related events such as speakers, panels, and mixers. We are able to assist with the planning, marketing, and execution. Email lawcareerservices@chapman.edu for assistance. Additionally, law student organizations may request event co-sponsoring. Submit a completed student organization co-sponsorship request form to lawcareerservices@chapman.edu.

Law Student Certification

Some positions offer the opportunity to appear in court on behalf of clients or the government if the law student is first "certified" through the State Bar's Practical Training of Law Students program. Learn how to become certified and please have the Registrar's office sign all applicable school forms.

Externships

Receive academic credit by working for judges, government agencies, corporations, public interest organizations, private law firms, and more.

Reciprocity
