RESEARCH/TEACHING INTERESTS

Dr. Qi’s research is at the intersection of computer graphics, human-computer interaction, virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI). She is particularly interested in studying multidisciplinary problems with practical impact by connecting visual computing technologies with real-world human-centered endeavors. Specific projects under investigation include 1) building human-interactive 3D modeling and animation tools to support intuitive creation, modeling, and animation of geometric data in the virtual world and 2) developing AI-assisted VR simulation technologies for education and training. Potential application areas of her research include healthcare education and training, assistive technology, collaborative VR, and computational creativity.
