"The Society of Women Engineers has been my home at Chapman because I can connect with fellow women in engineering, share experiences, and find inspiration. The support from this community motivates me to attend every meeting and build lasting friendships!"

SWE resources

Joining the Society of Women Engineers gives you an automatic network of colleagues with similar experiences, challenges, and goals. In fact, many current members credit SWE as the reason they stuck with—and succeeded in—their STEM programs!

Some resources you will have access to as an SWE member include:

  • Discounts on conferences around the nation and other SWE-hosted events.
  • Exclusive webinars and information sessions for professional development and all things engineering.
  • Scholarships for members.
  • Mentorship opportunities.
  • SWE Discord server.

SWE events

Chapman’s Society of Women Engineers has a wide range of events each semester, including:

  • National engineering conferences that SWE attends as a group
  • Weekly meetings
  • Professional development and technical workshops with industry guests
  • Social events on and off-campus

Check out SWE’s event calendar for the latest updates and information on upcoming events!

Software engineering major and 2024 - 2025 Chapman SWE President
"For Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, an all-female team of SWE members traveled 400 miles to participate in TreeHacks 2023, a 36-hour hackathon. Presenting our project to judges was a fantastic experience, and attending events like these helps women in engineering expand our perspectives and connect with peers in the field."
