We offer scholarship awards for first-year and transfer students ranging from $3,000 up to meeting full needs for select recipients. For this reason, we encourage all interested students to apply.

  • Unless otherwise noted, all applicants to a Fowler School of Engineering undergraduate degree program will be considered for the awards below (and you will need to apply to a Fowler Engineering major to be considered for these awards). 
  • In nearly all cases, scholarship and aid from Fowler Engineering can be combined with other merit and need-based aid, as well as outside scholarships. 
  • Scholarships for first-year students can be renewed for the four years they will be at Chapman. Transfer students can renew for up to eight semesters minus the number of full-time equivalent semesters attended prior to enrolling at Chapman.
  • Scholarship renewal requirements will be listed in award letters.

Scholarships for incoming students

All applicants to a Fowler Engineering undergraduate program will be considered for the following awards:

Fowler Engineering Scholarships

Award amount: $3,000 to full need for tuition and fees

Fowler Engineering Scholarships are awarded in a variety of categories:

  • Merit scholarships for students with exemplary academic track records. 
  • Need-based scholarships for students with demonstrated financial need. (To demonstrate financial need, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • Our Human-Centered Engineering scholarships for students from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in STEM.

Industry-sponsored Scholarships

Award amount: $500 and up, depending on scholarship 

Industry-sponsored scholarships are provided by one of our industry partners. They are provided to help promising students prepare to enter high-need engineering fields.

In addition to the financial award, these scholarships may include an internship with one of our partners and/or a Grand Challenges Initiative project that aligns with a partner’s mission. Some industries represented include:

  • Aerospace
  • Biomedical implants
  • Business/data analytics
  • Medical devices
  • Semiconductor manufacturing
  • Software development

Laptop Assistance Program

Since computers are essential to completing your coursework, we created the Laptop Assistance Program.

Incoming students can apply to receive a new laptop to use throughout their time as Chapman Engineering students.

The Laptop Assistance Program application will be sent to all admitted engineering students. Preference will be given to those with a demonstrated need.

In addition, Fowler Engineering has a Laptop Loan Program where eligible engineering students can borrow a laptop for the semester.

Aid for current Fowler Engineering students

We also provide aid to current students to make the most of their Fowler Engineering experience.
