Bill Rosenthal has been everything from a staff writer to a showrunner to every writer/producer position in-between on both network and cable series. He was most recently the co-executive producer of the FX comedy series Saint George, starring George Lopez.  Prior to that he was co-executive producer of Showtime’s Emmy winning series, Nurse Jackie.  He has written and produced comedy, drama and animation. Other credits include Sabrina, the Teenage WitchThe John Larroquette ShowHead of the Class, and Working, which he co-created. Rosenthal is also the creator, writer and executive producer of AOL’s Greetings From Home, a digital comedy series funded by Michael Eisner. Since its launch, the series has had more than three million visitors.

In addition to teaching at Dodge College, Rosenthal has taught at UCLA, Cal State Fullerton, LMU and Columbia College Chicago. 

“My teaching philosophy is simple,” he says. “If you want to be a professional writer, write — and read.  The one thing every successful writer I’ve ever worked with has in common is that they all read. A lot." 

Rosenthal earned his B.A. in Theater Arts from University of California Santa Cruz, and his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Goddard College.
