Biography

Tiffany Nicole Cruz, Esq., is an adjunct professor at Fowler School of Law, where she teaches a contract drafting and negotiations course (Practice Foundations Transactions) to second- and third-year law students. Professor Cruz is an experienced, international labor and employment attorney, and focuses on global health and safety compliance. 

Professor Cruz began her legal career as a federal law clerk and worked for two federal District Court Judges in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. After clerking, her legal practice involved employment law and commercial litigation, white collar crime investigations and environmental matters. In 2019, Professor Cruz pivoted and commenced her in-house career focusing on U.S. labor and employment law for a prominent Professional Employer Organization (PEO). Almost five years ago, Professor Cruz launched her international career with the award-winning global Employer of Record (EOR) G-P/Globalization Partners, where she manages various labor and employment matters, vendors, a team of attorneys and health and safety professionals, while providing strategic-yet-pragmatic guidance to various business leaders and stakeholders. 

Professor Cruz also serves on the Executive Committee for the Labor and Employment Law Section for the California Lawyers Association and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association. She is admitted to practice law in California and the District of Columbia, before the state and federal courts in California and before the United States Supreme Court. Professor Cruz earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and worked as an engineer, logistics manager, and in global purchasing for the global powerhouse manufacturer Caterpillar, Inc.
