Biography
Professor Garbayo previously served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Acting at
SUNY Albany, where he directed the world premiere production of Mary Shelley Meets Frankestein and The Taming of the Shrew. As an actor, he has performed extensively in New York and in many of the nation's
most noted theaters. He was most recently featured in Netflix's mini-series Zero Day opposite Robert DeNiro. His New York credits include; This Space Between Us (Keen Company); The Government Inspector, The School for Scandal, ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore, Loot . His regional credits include; A Christmas Carol (Hartford Stage); Twelfth Night (St. Louis Shakespeare Festival); Native Gardens (Denver Center); Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare Theatre of DC); Suddenly Last Summer (Westport Country Playhouse); Pride and Prejudice (Pittsburgh Public Theater); Amadeus (Maltz Jupiter Theater). Ryan has been seen on television in Lioness, Law and Order: SVU, Elementary, The Good Wife, Person of Interest. Professor Garbayo earned his MFA from NYU's Graduate Acting Program, where he was a Silverman scholar and a Diversity
Mentee; He received his BFA from Emerson College, cum laude. Professor Garbayo has
held faculty positions at University of Miami, Professional Performing Arts School,
New York Film Academy.
