Biography

Marques Green is an award winning director/writer of narrative and documentary films. His career began shadowing Emmy Award winning and Oscar nominated directors Jon Alpert and Matthew O'Neill on the ESPN feature documentary A Woman Among Boys. Afterward, Green directed numerous music videos, commercials, and a short film entitled The Bluest Note, which screened internationally and won top honors in the independent narrative short category for the Black Reel (Critics) Awards as well as the jury prize at the Blackstar Film Festival.

His latest film, Adé, is a portrait of a ruptured family dealing with the effects of a sudden manic episode. The short is part of a larger portrait series Green is working on based on miracles. In addition, he is currently developing his feature film, Tools & Weapons.

Green holds a B.A. from Colgate University in Political Science and Sociology and an M.F.A. in Directing from the American Film Institute where he was the recipient of the prestigious Frank Pierson Scholarship.
