Biography

Larissa Brown is a multi-faceted artist whose creative talents spans multiple industries. She worked as an animation artist for Nickelodeon's The Rugrats and has illustrated almost a dozen books for Nickelodeon's licensed properties, including Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Her debut graphic novel, Blake Laser (HarperCollins) is a 24th-century science fantasy about a biracial girl who must save the planet from aliens. She has taught art and comics to folks at Cartoon Network, Google and LinkedIn. Her educational company, OC Art Studios, has reached thousands of children and adults all over the world. During the pandemic, she created an online community of BIPOC art students and partnered with X to offer more than 500 full scholarships to hopeful animation and illustration artists. She spends most of her time teaching art at colleges and universities in Orange County and currently works as a Disney Fine Art artist. Her work can be seen in galleries at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. Her favorite color is yellow because it symbolizes joy, which she loves to share through warm hugs. She also loves to dance, though she keeps her singing to herself.
