Dr. Kwynn Perry

Dr. Kwynn Perry received her Ph.D. in Cinema and Media Studies from USC with interests in race, gender and representation, pop culture, classical Hollywood and the studio system, celebrity, music in the cinemascape, film history and industrial practices, and consumption studies. 

In addition to teaching, Perry has married her academic background with her creative inclinations —  working as a writer for screen and podcast. She has film and TV projects set up with Lionsgate, Amazon, Significant Pictures, Simpson Street and Revelations Entertainment. Perry served as a writer, director and producer on the podcast series The Burned Photo and was a Best Scriptwriting Ambie Award nominee and Signal Award winner for her work on the series.  

Perry has also worked as a development consultant and writer for Fox, and currently has a feature film, Rosetta, starring Lizzo, in development at Amazon. 

She is an active member of the Writers Guild of America.
