Biography
Kevin Lau is a Los Angeles-based dancer, choreographer, and educator originally from
Toronto, Canada. He grew up training in contemporary dance, hip-hop, ballet, jazz,
and modern, and attended Claude Watson School for the Arts and later its continuing
dance program at Earl Haig Secondary School in North York, Ontario. He is an alumnus
of the School of Alberta Ballet in Calgary and a ‘summa cum laude’ graduate of the
Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a BFA Degree in Contemporary Dance. Throughout
the years, he has been fortunate to perform in countries including Germany, Canada,
and the U.S, working with prominent choreographers: Monika Felice Smith, Micaela Taylor,
Jessica Castro, Guillaume Côté, Sophia Lucia, Erica Klein, Entity Contemporary Dance,
Gigi Todisco, Camila Arana, Peggy Baker, Anne Plamondon, Lauren Edson, David Norsworthy,
Zoe Scofield, Kristen Carcone, Christoph Winkler, Eduardo Vallejo Pinto, and Kate
Weare. He has also performed live for musical icons: Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliott,
and Lionel Richie. Kevin has choreographed and taught at various distinguished schools
and programs such as Loyola Marymount University, Boston Conservatory at Berklee,
Long Beach Ballet, DC Dance LA, Serendipity Dance Co, Elite Dance Centre, and Cawthra
Park Secondary School. He is represented by Clear Talent Group LA, and is a current
company member of Côté Danse. He is also on the dance faculty at Chapman University.
