Biography

Kathy Thibault is a strategic marketing and advertising leader with more than 30 years of experience helping brands connect with consumers through insight-driven strategy and creative excellence. She began her career in Account Planning at the renowned creative agency Chiat/Day and the historic D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles. Since then, she has served as a consultant to leading agencies, including RPA, David & Goliath, Wunderman Thompson, Campbell Ewald West, The Richards Group, among many others.

Thibault has helped shape award-winning campaigns for brands including Nissan, Honda, In-N-Out Burger, Sony, Invisalign, Shell Oil Company, the National Association of Realtors, BMW Designworks, Public Storage, to name a few. Her work has been recognized with some of the advertising industry's highest honors, including Effie Awards and ADDYs. She brings deep experience across global, national, regional, and local brands spanning a wide range of industries.

In addition to her agency work, Thibault has served as an on-site content creator and producer for PCH Productions in both the United States and Europe, producing real-time content that supports brand storytelling.

She joined Dodge College in 2019 and teaches courses in the Public Relations, Advertising and Entertainment Marketing program, including Research and Strategy, Digital Marketing, Finding the Big Idea, and Student Advertising Agency I and II. She also serves as faculty advisor for Chapman's National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) team, which consistently ranks among the nation's top programs and has earned more than 70 ADDY Awards over the past six years.

Beyond the classroom, Thibault is an active leader in the advertising industry. She serves on the American Advertising Federation's National Education Executive Council (NEEC) and currently chairs the AAF NEEC NSAC Committee. She also co-leads Chapman's summer travel course to Cannes, France, giving students firsthand access to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and the global leaders shaping the future of advertising, marketing, and creative communications.

Recent Creative, Scholarly Work and Publications

Reviewed and assessed research methodology for an emergent category for Radicle Insights, a research company. My findings were used for PR and marketing purposed specifically for their client, Ryff, a company that utilizes a proprietary "AI technology analyzes any moving image content to provide deep data intelligence about each frame, pin-pointing the emotionally-driven, association-based opportunities to marry brands to content with contextual relevance" (Ryff website).
