Biography

Dr. Jimmy Phan has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences within the Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences since Fall 2026. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2017 from Chapman University and has been a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy since 2020. His clinical experience includes vestibular rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease, concussion/brain injury, and stroke rehabilitation in both the outpatient neurologic and home health settings.

In the classroom, Dr. Phan’s passion lies in educating future healthcare professionals in anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience. Prior to his assistant professorship, he served as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Physical Therapy at Chapman University from Spring 2018 to Summer 2026, primarily in the Anatomy Laboratory on the Rinker Health Science Campus. He has also taught briefly at West Coast University, CSU Long Beach, Oregon Institute of Technology, and Physician Assistant Studies Program at Chapman University. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, collecting stationery, and completing his National Park Passport.
