Biography
Dr. Jillian Janowiak is a cognitive psychologist with an applied focus in legal psychology. Dr. Janowiak’s passion for legal psychology began during her undergraduate career, where she began researching the malleability of eyewitness memory and the powerful implications of false memories. Her interests led her to graduate school, where she received her Doctoral degree in Psychological Science from the University of California, Irvine. While in graduate school, Dr. Janowiak began teaching her own undergraduate courses and immediately found her passion for teaching. Through teaching and research, Dr. Janowiak aims to explore how normal psychological processes, such as memory, function within applied settings like the criminal justice system. Dr. Janowiak’s research includes topics such as the malleability of eyewitness memory and perceptions of eyewitness testimony in the courtroom.
